DIWAN KHANA (SITTING HALL) LAHORE Guru Arjun Dev is said to have built a Diwan Khana for religious assemblies in Chuna Mandi. The old structure was replaced by Maharaja Ranjit Singh by a new building which now bears No.H/2145 in the re cords of Corporation of Lahore. The Diwan Khana is spread over an area measuring 102’x89′. In the northern portion, facing the bazar, there are a few shops. In the south-east corner there is an old well now blocked and used as a Sabi. In the centre is a brick paved courtyard measuring 62’x 30. The floor of this hall is paved with marble tiles in black and white and the rest in red concrete. The western part of the hall contains a marble platform bearing an inscription in Gurmukhi.
